Namaste Fashion Week!

New York. London. Milan. Paris.
The four fashion forces that are on top of the importance scale of the fashion pyramid. Showing the latest collection in runway shows  and dictating what’s supposed to be the new trend for the upcoming year.
And there is one city that is almost never mentioned when talking about fashion : New Delhi/India.
There is one thing that comes to my mind when thinking about this country in Asia: COLOR. A lot of color. And that is exactly what I appreciate about fashion made in India. We talked before about Ashish Gupta, but during the New Delhi fashion week 2012 there was another designer catching my attention. He is also called the Indian John Galliano: Manish Arora.

Manish Arora

The New York Times describes his style as following: “He is known for a rich palette of psychedelic colours and kitsch motifs in garments that combine traditional Indian crafts like embroidery, appliqué and beading with Western silhouettes.”
And I can only agree. I like the fact that he is mixing tradition with the more western style.

BUT there is one question: Why are all the cool designer always doing fashion for women? Where is the men’s collection? WHERE?
