If Madonna knew what she co-created when she shot the video to the song called Vogue, she would do it exactly the same way:
Voguing is actually a dance that is danced by striking different poses. Kind of a photo shoot with flow and dynamics, if that makes sense?! It comes from dancers imitating models. Vogue is a highly stylized, modern house dance that evolved out of the Harlem/New York ballroom scene in the 1980s. There are two main styles: the old way and the new way voguing. The dance is returning to mainstream attention step by step, not only in the States, but everywhere else. I personally saw this dance style the first time on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew.
I talked to a friend of mine, who is dancer and she said that voguing is now all over the place. So I figured I have to write about it. Even the Japanese Vogue made it a topic in their January 2013 issue. It is funny how the dance took it from the fashion scene and the fashion scene is bringing it back from the dance. Check it out:
I found this dance instruction video on YouTube if you feel like dancing it. I’m still gonna stick to my old school HipHop dance style.
