“Fake” For Fun

Fashion Week is going on. And all you see are these cool, fresh, super dope new designer clothes. You feel like you want all of them, but then you realize you are not even close to buy one, because you don’t have the fucking money.$$$
Nobody is giving me the clothes for free. Fuck my life. And so I am wondering if it is acceptable to buy the latest high street fashion as me-too-products? Online Shops like Choies make it possible. But then again you see the difference in the design and quality. I really don’t know….What do you think?

After some research (actually I just saw a pic on Tumblr) I found out about this designer called Wil Fry. He is an artist based out of New York City and Sydney/Australia who makes T-shirts with T-shirts on them. From Givenchy prints to the Marc Jacobs pink T that featured the designer’s vandalized store and makes it it’s very own. One of his T-Shirts got even sold for 90.000$! Ka-ching!

The most important thing is that Wil does one thing that absolutely solves my problem:  he is not making it look like plagiarism but more like parody. And his stuff turns out to be THE SHIT! Take a look:

Isn’t it cool? All of the pictures can be found on Wil Fry’s Tumblr. I wish he had an online shop. I’d be the first customer.
In the end it is about fun with fashion, isn’t it?
