Chloé Treats

Colorful deliciousness

The other day at the Chloé afterparty, I had the honor to meet the label’s creative director, the beautiful, but most of all, incredibly talented Clare Waight Keller. In her summer collection 2014 for the label, she mixed up the typical Chloé relaxed elegance with boyfriend-cut shorts, tapered pants and standout cut-out tops and laser-cut lace pieces which were to die for.

While stuffing my face with the tiny, delicious treats that were served at the party at the beautiful Hôtel Particulier in Montmartre (and drowning it all with glasses of champagne… just another casual Sunday), I observed the crowd, many of whom work for the company and once again, I had to duly note in my head:

When you (finally) grow up and get a job, work in fashion; not liking your colleagues is just so much harder if they have great style.

After every weekend, I vow to always run a full 8 hour sleep marathon through the land of dreams, eat rabbitloads of salad and quit everything exhausting, i.e. smoking, drinking, dancing until 8am (cf. point number one).

Well, this plan usually lasts until Friday, and since I have moved to Paris has never even seen a glimpse of a chance against the Parisian nightlife. And now fashion week. In addition to doing all the above, we also have to start dressing nicer to get into the usual clubs (I already bid farewell to my Gel Lytes until after next week… towering, über gorgeous models and a next-to-short Asian just doesn’t mix well with my ego).

Thanks to current trends, sporting a colored lip makes up for the fact that there may be the occasional lazy day during fashion week that prevents you from putting on a Sartorialist-worthy look. So in preparation to avoid a sore lip from all the champagne/lipstick cocktails which are bound to enter our Parisian system this week, take a big dive into the beautiful Dior marshmallowy deliciousness for a sweet healthy treat into the week.
