Adriana, Paris and Alessandra for Turkey

Taking a trip to Istanbul is totally worth it. Especially when you get the chance to go shopping. Anyway having just 6 days to learn about this amazing town was more than NOT enough. (I didn’t even have the time to go to the Istanbul Fashion Week, which was coincidentally happening, while I was there.)  Running from one spot to an other just to take something about the history, the culture, the food and the fashion with you was just exhausting.

Nonetheless, my friend and I had a great time, the great “summer weather” in October was just another amazing feature to underline the great times. I have a bad habit by setting my expectations too high, just to get disappointed in return. However, the town itself surprisingly didn’t disappoint me at all. It was quite the opposite.

I’m not gonna tell you about things, which are written in every city guide and I’m especially not gonna tell you about some places where you can get some fake Louis Vuitton bags. Turkey is more than that and you gonna notice it anyway, once you get to go there.

I hear from many people that they wanna take a trip to Istanbul. Yeah, go to all these cultural touristic places (I’ve done it too. lol) but if you’re interested in fashion in the slightest bit, don’t miss to go to “Taksim” and “Osmanbey/ Nisantasi”. Along with familiar labels like Zara, Mango, H&M, Topshop and Bershka, you can also find plenty of  Turkish labels there, which shouldn’t be missed.

The most famous label would be “Mavi”, which is easily a familiar denim name to many international fashion interested folks. Having the famous model Adriana Lima as an advertising icon is just adding to the popularity.

Labels like “DeFacto” and “Koton” also managed to hire some famous names like Paris Hilton and Alessandra Ambrioso. These women have two effects on people . First of all, the company is adding to it’s reputation and fame and secondly and most importantly it’s showing us that the companies should be taken seriously and have the potential to go through a worldwide expansion.

However, many turkish companies are still unknown outside of Turkey. It’s an unused potential, which could bring, once rightly managed, more success to the labels. But let’s be honest, there is one satisfying point to it. Brought in Turkey, you aren’t forced to see the same clothes on other women in Germany other countries. Probably, the worst nightmare of us girls. 😉 (Oh my, I’m just talking about women’s fashion. All these labels have men’s sections too. Of course, this is also relevant to male readers. haha)

Here are some online sites just to get an impression of some companies. Feel free to check them out:
